Grade 1/2 students have been using their senses a lot this week! Today we explored our classroom and looked for things that were smooth, soft, hard, and sharp! Here are some things we gathered.
This weekend, we encourage all students to find fluffy things, squishy things, and cold things! Make a list and bring them to school on Monday!
Worms
Our worms are growing and they're hungry! Our scientists in grade 1/2 were curious to know more about the worms. We used our senses to make our scientific observations.
Please ask your child: what are some things that the worms eat? What do the worms do when we open the bucket? Why do they do this!?
iPad Club
Mrs. Johl and Ms. Toor are offering the iPad club on Tuesday's starting next week. Due to our limited number of iPads, only 20 students will are able to join this round. 6 or 7 students from each class were sent home with permission forms. If you give permission for your child to attend this club, please fill out the form sent home and send a healthy lunch with your student each Tuesday. If your child normally goes home for lunch, they are welcome to stay at no cost. If your child goes to daycare for lunch, please pack them a lunch and advise the daycare of their absence Tuesday at lunch.
If your child did not come home with a form they will have an opportunity to join another club in the new year!
If you have any questions or clarification on this, please talk to Ms. Toor (sktoor@cbe.ab.ca)
