A few days ago we gave a sneak peek of the new guests in each of our rooms! We are happy to announce the arrival of our caterpillars!

Upon arrival, we immediately had so many questions and wonders! We made our observations, and included our wonders in our work. See some student samples below.

We're excited to explore our wonders in the upcoming weeks!

Have a great weekend!

Learning Inside & Outside

This week, the painters have preping and painting the inside walls of our gymnasium. Fortunately, we have had a week of warm, sunny afternoons which we have allowed us to develop our soccer and ball rolling skills outside on our playground.

Students have been learning techniques for effectively rolling balls into hoops set at various distances and rolling balls through hurtles over a longer distances.

At home, please set up various targets and practice rolling balls
as close as possible to the designated area.

Reminder: Mrs. Sagness has rescheduled choir to tomorrow, Thursday May 21. For those who are a part of choir, please remember to bring your lunch for tomorrow.

We have been working very hard to add extra details and power words to our writing. Today we stretched some of our sentences!
Here is an example:

We were so inspired, that we thought we would try or own sentences! Note how the last sentence is always the most interesting! Why do you think that is? Also notice how our pictures become more detailed to match our sentences.

We have been watching the Magellanic Penguin's from Long Beach California as they sat on their egg. Over the weekend, the egg hatched!!! Click the link below to see the parents with their new little penguin chick!

We hope all our students and families enjoyed a relaxing long weekend.

With the nice weather upon us many of our students are enjoying outdoor activities with the friends and families. While outdoor activities are a great way to exercise and have fun  remember to always make time to read a good book.

Please remember to return the green permission form  so your child can enjoy our fresh vegetables from the garden.
