Over the last few weeks, students have been observing the plants quickly grow,
especially the bean plants that have reached the ceiling.

In the photos below. they are watering sunflowers, pumpkins, peppers. tiny Tim tomatoes and basil.

A few weeks ago, a group of Alberta producers came to Vista Heights School and made us  a tasty breakfast. One of the grain farmers, visited Room 6 and gave Ms. Toor some barley and canola seeds.  In the side photo, students are inspecting the seedling of these two crops.

Ask your child to tell about how the different plants are growing.

We have been experimenting with growing pea seeds in various location s in the classroom. Students have been adding water and placing plants close to a light source. They have been observing the seedlings take in the light and create green stems.

A student is checking in on the red wriggler worms.

What are some of the foods that the worms like to eat?
