In recent weeks, the Little Green Thumbs garden has been flourishing! A sunflower plant has grown to be over two meters high, Peacock Pole beans have been harvested, and students have observed the early growth of some tiny, Tiny Tim tomatoes.

Please view the following photos to check out the growth in the garden

Students were picking all of the dead leaves of the plants and feeding them to our red wriggler worms.

Carefully examine the photo to the left ..... can you find Brady?

Look closely at the head of this sunflower plant and note all the lines of symmetry.

Our first few Tiny Tim tomatoes

This week, students are recording their observations of the different stages of the pumpkin. In the fall, we had saved the 'jack-o-lantern' seeds and planted them a couple of months ago. A beautiful orangish blossom has just bloomed.

As this plant will take a few more months to mature, we hope to transplant it into the new Vista Heights Community Garden later in the month.
