Grade 1/2 Explores Liquids

As part of our science unit we have been exploring the properties of liquids. This week we did an experiment which helped us understand the concept of density. We poured honey, corn syrup, dish soap, olive oil, rubbing alcohol and water into a container. They were poured very carefully one ingredient at a time. We predicted that the corn syrup would sink to the bottom of the container because we thought it was the most dense. Our prediction was not correct but we did have a lot of fun learning about liquids and their density.

Valentines Day is tomorrow

Don.t forget..... We don’t have school on Feb. 14th, so we will do a few friendship activities on Feb. 11th instead.   As a writing activity, your child may wish to give a card to classmates, whether store bought or homemade. As always, participation is completely optional. If your child does participate we ask that he/she provide a card for EVERY student in the class. Please have your child print all text independently.  Though we appreciate your kindness, please do not send any other treats or snacks.
